Operation Northwoods was a proposed false flag military and terrorist style operation directed against American citizens created by the U.S. Department of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States government in 1962. The proposals called for the Central Intelligence Agency and other U.S. government operatives to commit acts of terrorism against American civilians and military targets, and (falsely) blame the attacks on the Cuban government, through the creation of fake evidence and statements.
The desired result from the execution of this plan would be to place the United States in the apparent position of suffering defensible grievances at the hands of a rash and dangerous Cuban government. The fake threat of a dangerous Cuba would then be used by Washington to justify a major war with, and likely occupation of, Cuba itself.
The plan was drafted and authorized by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, sent to the Secretary of Defense, who forwarded it to President John Kennedy for consideration.
Suggested actions detailed in the Pentagon’s “Northwoods Documents” show the American government orchestrating terrorist violence on their own people by,
- assassination of civilian Cuban Americans on US streets,
- sinking of boats of Cuban refugees in international waters,
- hijacking American civilian airliners to be shot down or give the appearance of being shot down,
- blowing up U.S. ships,
- orchestrating violence and terrorism on civilians in U.S. cities.
The full Northwoods documents make it clear that this was a serious and genuine Pentagon plan to kill and terrorize its own US civilian population simply to make President Castro of Cuba look dangerous and irrational.
For example, the operation recommended developing a “Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington”, which involved the bombing of civilian targets. This was to be blamed on the “irresponsible” Cuban government to paint a false image of Fidel Castro and to misinform the American public and the world.
This was not just some day dreaming idea or an “on the fly” concoction. This was a well thought out and detailed plan which made it all the way to the desk of the president of the United States for his consideration.
The Pentagon plans also included staged attacks on and around its own US military base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, a base which the United States created by force. Using staged attacks on their own Cuban base and its surrounds, the American Generals were hoping either to provoke Cuba into taking retalitory actions or use the attacks as international justification for a full scale American invasion of Cuba.
“Since it would seem desirable to use legitimate provocation as the basis for U.S. military intervention in Cuba, a cover and deception plan, to include requisite preliminary actions such as had been developed in response to Task 33 c, could be executed as an initial effort to provoke Cuban (retalitory) reactions”.
Remember, it was only in the previous year – 1961 – that the disasterous failure of the CIA invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs had occurred. The failed “Bay of Pigs” was yet another American attempt to take over a sovereign nation, depose the President and install a leader more to Washington’s liking, all whilst avoiding any public connection. That CIA failure was a big wake up call for the newly annointed occupant of the Whitehouse.
Operation Northwoods included many and varied sub components such as Operation Dirty Trick. This was another false flag plot to blame Cuba’s President Castro if the 1962 Mercury space flight carrying US astronaut John Glenn crashed, saying:
“The objective is to provide irrevocable proof that, should the MERCURY manned orbit flight fail, the fault lies with Cuba…..this to be accomplished by manufacturing various pieces of evidence which would (wrongly) prove electronic interference on the part of the Cubans.”
The proposals contained within the 1962 “Operation Northwoods” documents were rejected by President John F. Kennedy although similar CIA operations were carried out inside Cuba as part of Operation Mongoose. In fact, some say Kennedy was so shocked by the Bay of Pigs failure and the Northwoods proposals, that he privately vowed to dismantle the CIA and start over with it.
President Kennedy was assassinated the following year in November 1963.
The “Operation Northwoods” files from 1962 are still little known in western society and its mainstream media. Yes, they have appeared in western media circles on occasion, but the mainstream media and their PR experts are highly skilled at hiding undesirable things in plain site.
Remote controlled flight of commercial airliners was already possible back in the 1960s.
If commerical sized passenger airliners were able to be flown by remote control in the 1960s for the purposes of shooting them down yourself – or give the appearance of being shot down by others – then to me, it doesn’t seem much of a technical leap to fast forward 40 years and for civilian airliners to be remote controlled for the purposes of crashing, or giving the appearance of having crashed, into tall buildings or the ground. Does it?
What did crash on 9/11? Planes or drones? Did they have anyone on board? Were they being flown by pilots or by remote control?
It will probably be decades, if ever, before we know the full truth about 9/11.
Two things are clearly certain right now,
- the events of 9/11 – as documented by official records – are partially, substantially or completely untrue.
- the Northwoods documents make it very clear that some sections of the American government will stop at nothing – nothing – to achieve their goals.
